Although Hawaii is a USA State, anyone visiting will quickly discover it is a unique world with its own music festivals, sports events, and cultural activities (like the Polynesian Cultural Center we visited). But where to go, what to attend or see?
The Hawaiian Tourism Authority has developed a travel app, Festivals of Hawaii (free), to make your planning easier. The app enables you to choose festivals by island or you can choose to locate something near you (should roaming charges not be an issue for your data plan). The Festivals of Hawaii travel app enables you to tailor your search, narrowing down the results screen to only include Hawaiian festivals, sports festivals, music festivals, education and more.
Find an event or festival that interests you and with one click you will find more details, including a description, date, time and location, plus a website link should one exist. There’s even a little map with the option to get directions with Google Maps from your current location. There’s also a My Favourite feature that enables you to bookmark events that interest you. Visiting your Favourites screen will give you quick access to these events.
